Carly's Apple Crumble

Carly's version of apple crumble is one of the easiest desserts to make and has never failed to be a total crowd pleaser. Added bonus tip for the cook: taste the apples once they are covered in the filling before you put them in the oven....soooooo unbelievably delicious!!!

Ingredients:

Flour
Brown Sugar
Butter
Cinnamon
Granny Smith Apples
Almond Extract
Vanilla
Cornstarch

Topping:

In a large mixing bowl, add 1&3/4 cup flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 stick of very cold refrigerated butter cut in centimeter cubes. Mix with mixer until a sandy consistency.

Fillling:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit  Peel 8-10 apples and slice into 16 slices. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp. almond extract, 2 sticks totally melted butter, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 2 tblsp cornstarch. Place apples in pie-tin and top with topping. Pour topping on center of apples and spread so it covers all the apples. Bake for approximately 30 minutes until golden-brown and bubbly. Remove from oven and let stand for 10-20 minutes.
